Hannah's Surprise 16th Birthday Pary!

Since I couldn't be home for Hannah's special day, Leah, Mom, and I planned a surprise party for Hannah! -complete with a crown and princess sash! Leah and I went up to Presque Isle and bought her a party outfit- jewelry included (she is wearing the part of the outfit in the above picture). We also bought her a Disney Pretty Princess pinata! Unfortunately, we forgot to tape the bottom up, so all the candy fell out on the first hit! My grandparents and aunt and 2 cousins were visiting so they got to be on the party. Even though it was early, it was nice to not completely miss out on her 16th birthday.
Love you Hannah!

Hannah and Madsion- w/ salso doritoes, Hannah's favorites!

Sam trying to give Hannah a birthday kiss! Leah and Hannah- aren't they beautiful!?!

Sam in his Hawaiin shirt and pretty princess tiara!

My little cousin, Madison- Our very own Hula Dancer

Mount Katahdin
After 10 years and several attempts (rain outs...) Dad and I finally climbed Mt. Katahdin! Hannah came along too! I have to say that I was totally exhausted and sore from the climb. I think it would have been a lot easier about 10 years ago! It was definitely worth the climb, although I am not in any hurry to climb it again. The view was beautiful and it was nice to spend some quality time with dad and hannah.

Dad and I before the hike at "the rock." I remember this rock from when we used to go camping as a family at Baxter. I think somewhere there is a picture of me with Amy Suitter when we were in elementary school...

Dad and Hannah at one of our resting spots...

Hannah and I... almost at the top! This was as far as Hannah made it! So close!

View from the top- Dad and I at the top...finally! Since Hannah wasn't there to take the shot, this we the best I could do...

On the way down... we were SOOO tired!

View from the road! Maybe by this time next year I will be ready to climb again... until then I will have to settle for climbing mountains the Chinese way- one step at a time! (All the mountains in china I have been to have cement steps to climb up...)
